Agriculture is consistently Montana’s top industry, according to the most recent United States Department of Agriculture report, but there is growing discontent within the community. Farmers and ranchers get back 16 cents of every dollar they invest in their trade, one study by the American Farm Bureau Federation found. In 1980, it was 31 cents.

Update: Northern Ag Network spoke with Greg Lemon the head of public information for Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks today. FWP collaborated rancher reports that a total of four calves were killed on two ranches near Stanford, MT on Sunday. The livestock were reported to be killed either later Friday night or early Saturday morning. Both USDA Wildlife Services and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks worked to set up trapping efforts to capture the bears. The grizzlies were two young male siblings.
[BROOKINGS, S.D.] – The agriculture community recently banded together at the fourth annual Prime Time Gala to support Feeding South Dakota, which provides food assistance to hundreds of men, women and children across the state. Both Alltech and Hubbard Feeds, an Alltech company, supported the successful event, which raised a total of $236,508.
