Leveling the Playing Field with China

There is a lot of uncertainty in farm and ranch country when it comes to the ag economy. During the 2018 National Farmers Union Fly-In held in Washington, D.C. farmers and ranchers shared their thoughts, concerns and the impact the trade war has had or may have on their farms and ranches.

 

At a meeting at the headquarters of the USDA, Greg Doud, Chief Ag Negotiator for the U.S. Trade Representative shared insight on why the trade war with China came about and why the U.S. acted to level the playing field with China and other nations.

Montana Farmers Union Travel to D.C.

Montana Farmers Union (MFU) members spent this past week in Washington D.C. for the National Farmers Union Fly-In. Farmers took to Capitol Hill to advocate for multiple issues including the Farm Bill, rural health care and to talk trade. 350 Farmers Union members from across the nation attended this year’s event. Sharing first hand their experiences and hardships in rural America.

Montana Native Named CEO of Natl. Corn Growers Asso.

Today, the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Corn Board has named Jon Doggett as the organization’s new chief executive officer. Doggett is the fifth CEO in the organization’s 61-year history. The change is effective immediately.
