This week members of the Montana Agricultural Business Association (MABA) and Montana Grain Elevator Association (MGEA) are meeting in Great Falls, MT for their 23rd Annual Joint Convention, Trade Show and Pesticide Recertification Workshop.
Brandon Neuman with BASF is the convention chairman for MABA and explained to Russell Nemetz some of the big issues being talked about by their members this year.

Justin Hager with Montana Specialty Mills is the convention chairman for MGEA and told Russell Nemetz they’re members are also covering some big topics this week.

Both associations are also paying tribute to late Executive Director Pam Langley who passed away unexpectedly in the fall of 2009. During Thursday evening’s banquet, Pam’s leadership, professionalism, knowledge and respect will be remembered by both associations and their members.
One of this year's trade show exhibiters is Bayer CropScience. In Great Falls, Russell Nemetz interviewed Mark Haugland about "Mega Trends" in Agriculture and how "Innovation" is the key to everyone's success.
MillerCoors has been a long-time supporter of the MABA and MGEA. Steve Rockhold is with the MillerCoors barley procurement division and was interviewed by Russell Nemetz on television about last year's harvest, increasing beer sales in 2010 and more.
Promoting new market development is just one facet of what the Montana Wheat and Barley Committee does on behalf of producers and their check-off dollars.
Kara Rowe is the Marketing Program Manager and told Russell Nemetz that she and others will soon be embarking on a trade mission to Japan.
