Wheat prices have been ignoring the declining conditions of the U.S. hard red winter wheat crop lately, but the problem is not going away and this week prices found timely support. Monday, USDA said 41% of the winter wheat crop was rated poor to very poor, up from 39% the previous week. For the week: July corn closed 4 1/2 cents higher. July Chicago wheat was 14 1/4 cents higher, July Kansas City wheat was 8 1/2 cents higher, and July Minneapolis wheat was 2 cents higher.
