Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture Conference

by

(Billings, MT) It’s time to “Put Your Best Boot Forward!” and join us at the 2015 Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture Conference! WSFA will be held September 11-12, 2015 at the Big Horn Resort in Billings, Montana!

The conference provides women the opportunity to learn about current events and agricultural issues, network with other women involved in agriculture, and focus on leadership development. The mission of the Women Stepping forward for Agriculture symposium is to, “empower women involved in all sectors of agriculture through education, collaboration, and networking, to ensure the success of farming and ranching across the region.”

This week the Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz talked with Sara Hollenbeck about this year’s Conference.

The annual Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture (WSFA) conference has a long history in Montana. The first conference was held in 2001 in Great Falls and the event has been held annually across the state for the past 13 years.

Every year, a group of about 10 different women from across Montana volunteer for the WSFA steering committee that organizes and hosts the annual conference. In past years the USDA has taken the lead in organizing the conference, however in 2015 a group of women agricultural leaders have stepped up to take over the WSFA conference.  This group of women, who represent many of the major ag organizations in the state, have plans to make WSFA one of the premier women’s agriculture conferences in Montana.
