According to the Missoulian, a single lighting strike killed 45 cattle on a ranch near Darby, Montana last week. They report that the cows, calves, and bull were crowded under crabapple trees when the lighting struck.
Local ranchers helped the rancher, Jean Taylor, dispose of the animals.
