North Dakota Mill Reports Profit Increase

by Andy Schwab

BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Mill today reported record profits of over $26.6 million for fiscal year 2025, an increase of 28% from the previous year’s record of over $20.7 million.

“The dedicated team at the North Dakota Mill delivered another exceptional year with record shipment volume of 18.7 million hundredweight, a record 40.3 million bushels of grain purchased, and gross sales of $476 million,” North Dakota Industrial Commission members said in a joint statement. “We are grateful for their support of the mill’s mission and for their hard work to deliver a profit to its owners – the citizens of North Dakota.”

“It all starts with North Dakota farmers again delivering superior quality spring wheat and  durum to the mill. Profits were driven by an increase in shipment volumes of 7%. Our dedicated employees remain focused on providing consistent quality products delivered with the highest level of customer service,” said mill President and CEO Vance Taylor.

For FY 2025, the mill has transferred 52.5% of its profits, $12,679,845, to the state’s general fund and $1,334,720 to the agricultural product utilization fund. The remaining profits are used for mill operations.

The North Dakota Mill, officially the North Dakota Mill and Elevator Association, was established in 1922 and is overseen by the Industrial Commission, comprised of Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Attorney General Drew Wrigley and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.
