U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins today announced that Laurie Boner has been appointed as the new State Executive Director (SED) for the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Wyoming.
Laurie is a rancher and small business owner residing near Glenrock, Wyoming. She is actively involved and serves on numerous agriculture-related boards. Previously she had a successful career with the Wyoming Department of Agriculture for over 15 years, where she oversaw the state’s food safety and environmental health program.
Laurie is deeply involved in her family’s ranch, M Diamond Angus, where they raise cattle and sheep. She manages their annual bull sale and runs LB Boutique Designs.
Her work on the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, Converse County Stock Growers, Converse County Tourism, Wyoming Sheep Foundation, Wyoming State Fair and Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust boards showcases her relentless commitment to agriculture and community.
A University of Wyoming graduate, Laurie also served on the Wyoming Quarter Horse Association board and served six years on the Wyoming Livestock Board.
In 2021, Boner was honored as the Heart of Agriculture Award winner and then in 2024 was inducted into the Wyoming Agriculture Hall of Fame. She is also a graduate from the Wyoming Ag Leadership Education and Development Program, and she and her husband Brad received the Harold Josendahl Patron Award from the Wyoming Wool Growers Association.
As SED, Boner is responsible for overseeing the delivery of FSA programs to agricultural producers in Wyoming. These commodity, conservation, credit, and disaster assistance programs ensure a safe, affordable, abundant and nutritious food, fiber, and fuel supply for all Americans.
“When rural America succeeds, our entire country is stronger. These newly appointed USDA state directors will play a critical role in advancing President Trump’s America First agenda in the states and ensuring that our farmers and ranchers are prioritized. Farm security is national security, and this Administration is prioritizing protecting small family farms for the next generation of American farmers. I appreciate these newly appointed directors’ commitment to our mission and look forward to seeing them lead with the kind of vision that puts American farmers and rural communities first,” said Secretary Rollins.
