In Montana, sugarbeet harvest is near completion as excellent weather in the south and east areas of the State allowed another week of solid progress. 91{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of beets have been harvested, dramatically more than last year’s 63{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4}. Also better than average and nearing completion, 95{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of the silage corn has been harvested. And while we see national numbers much lower, 76{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of Montana’s winter wheat is rated good-to-excellent, which is well above last year’s 48{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4}.
That sugarbeet harvest is wrapping up in Wyoming as well with 97{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of the beets in. That’s way above last year’s 64{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4}. The silage corn has been harvested. Laramie County reported a hard frost that finally killed the grasshoppers and Platte County reported some moisture that has improved emergence of their winter wheat. That winter wheat is rated 44{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} fair and 56{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} good.
North Dakota and South Dakota are both also done with their silage corn harvest. 91{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of South Dakota winter wheat has emerged and is rated at 74{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} good-to-excellent. In North Dakota, 51{4d08edaf359bc2115b18a651716ebd427a137946ddca2143fa23b3ea721061e4} of sunflowers have been harvested.
