This year’s Eastern Region District Leadership School for FFA took place in Jordan, Montana, welcoming members from chapters such as Rosebud, Baker, Forsyth, Glendive, Miles City, Plevna, Ekalaka, and Broadus. Additional sessions for the eastern part of the state were held in Sidney, Colstrip, and Billings, with the western region’s sessions scheduled for the following week.
The leadership workshops were led by the state officer team: President Jordan Leach, Vice President Reagan Long, Treasurer Sierra Mauland, and Secretary Emma Lou Slivka. Their interactive sessions were aimed with practical skills for real-world scenarios, emphasizing key aspects of effective leadership including risk management and emotional intelligence. These workshops also provided a valuable opportunity for state officers and members to connect, guiding their team skills and collaboration for the year ahead.
For the Jordan FFA chapter, this event held special significance as it marked many members’ first experience with the organization. Since rechartering in 2023, the Jordan chapter was enthusiastic about expanding its network and reinforcing its presence within the FFA community. The leadership school served as a vital platform for Jordan members to engage with peers from across the region and work towards these goals.
Overall, the District Leadership Schools are essential to the growth of FFA members and showcase the dedication of Montana’s FFA community.
