Embezzlement Sentence for Former MT Dept. of Livestock Employee

Helena, MT –  A former employee at the Montana Department of Livestock accused of embezzling more than $36,000, pleaded no contest in Lewis and Clark County District Court.

Cindy Cartwright was sentenced to a six year deferred sentence by Judge Jeffrey Sherlock for felony theft by embezzlement.

Cartwright will have to pay more $40,000 in restitution.

The theft took place between 2003 and 2010 while she was a state brand recorder.
