Southcentral Cattle and Forage Series

Montana State University Extension agents in Yellowstone, Carbon, Big Horn, and Stillwater Counties have teamed up to present the Southcentral Cattle and Forage Series.

Speakers include Darrin Boss, MSU Northern Ag Research Center Superintendent, Megan Van Emon, MSU Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, Callie Cooley, MSU Extension Agent in Yellowstone County, and Nikki Bailey, MSU Extension Agent in Carbon County.  Boss will discuss his research regarding grazing cover crops, while Van Emon will discuss mineral supplementation strategies for beef cattle, as well as summarize research done on grazing sugarbeets.  Cooley and Bailey’s presentation will focus on how genetic selection has advanced and how it can be used by both seedstock and commercial producers.

Columbus – February 4, 11:00 AM, Stillwater County Pavilion, 328 East 5th Ave N

Joliet – February 4, 5:00 PM, Joliet Community Center, 209 E Front Ave

Hardin – February 5, 10:30 AM, Big Horn County Fairgrounds, 118 Sawyer Loop

Huntley – February 5, 3:30 PM, Southern Ag Research Center, 748 Railroad Hwy
