MONTANA – Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks (FWP) is conducting a scientific study, surveying Montana Households, Landowners, and Hunters regarding Montana’s 2011 Wolf Hunt.
The Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz talked with the FWP’s Ron Aashiem on Friday about the survey.
He says its a very passionate issue for those on both sides.
The survey is compiled of four different surveys targeting four “at random” focus groups.
1500 surveys were sent to at random
1500 surveys were sent to at random 2011
1000 surveys were sent to at random
1500 surveys were sent to at random Land Owners who own more than 160 acres.
The surveys are 95{fd15d42d1b024b97d6d50958be27cc8145b6addb99e015780abccf2984117bb0} identical. An example of the only difference is the surveys sent to 2011 Wolf license recipients did not include a question asking if they purchased a Wolf license in 2011.

2) On a scale from 1 to 5, how satisfied are you with the 2011
3) In the future, how likely are you to purchase a
4) On a scale from 1 to 5, to what extent do you support a portion of wolf hunting license fees being used to kill wolves that kill livestock in Montana?
5) On a scale from 1 to 5, to what extent do you support a portion of wolf hunting license fees being used to kill wolves outside the wolf hunting season in places where deer or elk numbers are below management objectives?
The survey then ends by asking the surveyed their age, sex, zip code, and any additional comments they have about
