According to a recent article from the Billings Gazette, Tuesday's failed attempt in Washington to make the labeling of food with GM ingredients mandatory has been the source of inspiration to some.
Similar to a recent move in California, the majority of Washington voters going to the polls this week voted down that mandatory labeling.
Is it time for a GM labeling initiative in Montana?
The Gazette reports that Kate Keller, with the Missoula Food Cooperative, is looking into the option. They quote her as saying “I have personally begun preliminary conversations with people about legislation and a petition.”
