HELENA, Mont. – Governor Greg Gianforte today met with Montana FFA state officers at the state capitol to proclaim this week as FFA Week in Montana.
“Montana agriculture drives our economy, supports jobs and communities, and sustains our way of life,” Gov. Gianforte said. “Through FFA, young Montanans are building leadership skills and gaining real-world experience to strengthen our number one industry and keep it strong for generations to come.”
During their visit, state officers shared updates on FFA membership growth, upcoming events, and the ways local chapters are preparing students for careers in agriculture, business, science, and skilled trades. The governor thanked the officers for their leadership and their commitment to serving their schools and communities.
“FFA has given students across Montana opportunities to grow as leaders, serve our communities, and prepare for careers that make a difference,” said Cole Waldusky, state first vice president of the Montana FFA Association. “We’re grateful for the governor’s support and for the recognition of the hard work FFA members put in every day in classrooms, shops, barns, and communities across our state.”
Gov. Gianforte proclaimed February 21 to 28 as FFA Week to highlight the important role agricultural education plays in preparing students for leadership, personal growth, and career success. Across Montana, FFA members participate in classroom instruction, supervised agricultural experiences, and leadership development activities that equip them with practical skills and hands on experience.
The Montana FFA Association, part of the National FFA Organization, includes more than 100 local chapters and thousands of student members statewide.
The governor’s proclamation encourages Montanans to recognize the contributions of FFA members and advisors and to celebrate the positive impact agricultural education has on communities across the Treasure State.
