Making Hay While the Field Was Hot in 1911

The crew was hard at work on the J.D. Johnson Ranch in eastern Montana gathering and loading hay in August of 1911.  Evelyn Cameron, who took this photograph, left an amazing record of the history of eastern Montana through her photographs and diaries and her collections are an important resource for researchers studying life in Montana in the early 20^th century. .
