When Northern Ag Network recently traveled to Richland County for their special “For the Farmers” tour, one of the participants was Mike McKay, the brand-new Ombudsman for BNSF Railway.
McKay joined the network’s tour to local farms and elevators, as part of his own outreach effort to introduce himself in his new position with BNSF. In this 10-minute conversation with Taylor Brown, Mike McKay shares a few thoughts about his new role, and the opportunities it offers for local farmers and shippers.
BNSF created their Ombudsmen Program over 20 years ago, to provide ag producers in North Dakota and Montana with a single source of contact to the railroad.
