Miles City Bucking Horse Sale to be Featured on National TV

DECEMBER 4, 2018  – The renowned Miles City Bucking Horse Sale will premiere on RFD-TV’s Special Cowboy Moments this Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

Locals and rodeo-fans nationwide know that, as its name implies, the annual Bucking Horse Sale is closely tied to today’s amateur and professional rodeo circuits. Started in 1950, this annual event has evolved from showcasing bronc and bareback riding stock to include bull riding, pari-mutuel horse racing, a concert, street dance and parade.

According to Special Cowboy Moments producers, “There are rodeos and then there are rodeos. The World Famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale is in a category by itself.”

The episode will highlight nearly 70 years of cowboy and horse history, all based in the Miles City area. With a population of approximately 8,500 residents, Miles City welcomes nearly 10,000 visitors to this celebration. However, “cowboying” is not just a once-a-year event in this Western town—it’s a celebrated way of life. The town offers myriad Western tourism venues, including the Range Riders Museum, the Miles City Saddlery and historic Main Street, among others.
