The top end of the crop, at 31{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} good-to-excellent, is down from last week’s 40{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107}.
Soybeans are also seeing the decline with 30{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} rated poor-to-very-poor compared to last week’s 27{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107}.
With condition ratings dropping for corn and beans, 65{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} of the U.S. spring wheat crop is still rated good-to-excellent. That’s dropped a percentage point in the past week and compares to the 73{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} good-to-excellent rating at this time last year.
We are seeing the winter wheat harvest across the U.S. on the downward slide. As of this past Sunday, 80{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} of that crop had been harvested. That compares to 64{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107} at this time last year and the five-year average of 65{6b02cb02835b82b7f756ddf6717aaab7139b350de274ea97f5b53eb230607107}.
