The bison working group will reconvene in Great Falls on October 9.
As the state of Montana continues to work towards a long term bison plan, the working group that has been put together to help form what that could look like will meet again in October.
During their July meeting, the group looked at several alternatives that could go forward for public comment through a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Read those HERE along with a recap of that meeting. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks indicated that they would expand on those alternatives and possibly add more before bringing it before the working group this fall.
Governor Steve Bullock has said that, one way or the other, he wants a decision on the bison front.
The tentative schedule for complete of the EIS is as follows:
