Montana Grazing Lands Coalition to Host First-Ever Grazing Expo in Billings

by Andy Schwab

The Montana Grazing Lands Coalition (MTGLC) is gearing up for its first-ever Grazing Expo, set for September 4–7 in Billings. The four-day event will feature more than 40 breakout sessions, a field tour, and networking opportunities designed to provide producers with practical tools and fresh ideas to improve the ecological resilience and economic longevity of their operations.

Executive Director Megan Terry, who stepped into the role last November after a career with NRCS, says the conference is all about supporting Montana agriculture. “We want producers to walk away with resources that make a real difference in their operation. Our hope is that we’ve created an experience ranchers look forward to each year – this isn’t just another conference, it’s a place to celebrate our accomplishments, build community, and offer support for one another,” Terry said.

The agenda includes keynote speaker Dr. Jeff Goodwin from Texas A&M’s Center for Grazing Lands and Ranch Management, along with numerous experts from across the country. Social events include a Thursday evening gathering at By All Means Brewing and a Saturday night banquet, dance, and live auction—open to both conference attendees and the public.
