FORT BENTON, MT – The Montana Pulse Crop Committee (MPCC) proudly announces that
Jeff Winkler, MPCC Pulse Industry Representative and owner of Madoc Ag, LLC in Fort Benton,
Montana, has been elected Chair of the U.S. Pea & Lentil Trade Association (USPLTA).
Founded in 1962, the USPLTA represents processors, warehousemen, and sellers of dry peas,
lentils, and chickpeas across the nation. The nine-member board works to advance the pulse
industry through leadership on trade rules, export policy, transportation, grading standards, and
international market access.
Winkler brings nearly 30 years of agriculture industry experience to the role. A veteran of
Montana’s Golden Triangle and beyond, he has held positions in seed development, feed
production, crop input sales, and grain merchandising. Since founding Madoc Ag, LLC, Winkler
has positioned the company as a trusted First Purchaser and marketing partner for pulse crops
and other Montana commodities.
“Jeff’s deep knowledge of pulse marketing, his extensive network, and his long-standing
commitment to Montana growers make him uniquely qualified to lead the USPLTA at a pivotal
time for our industry,” said Liz Edmundson, Executive Director of the MPCC. “This is a win not
only for Montana, but for the pulse industry across the U.S.”
Winkler’s election to the chairmanship reflects both his experience and his commitment to
innovation in Montana agriculture. Madoc Ag has played a key role in supporting growers by
combining traditional values with modern marketing strategies. The company has been active
across the Yellowstone Valley, the Platinum Rectangle, and the Golden Triangle, with over two
million acre-years of crop consulting and grain trading expertise.
As Chair, Winkler will help guide national and international trade policy and ensure the voice of
Montana pulse producers is well represented at every level. MPCC congratulates Jeff Winkler
on this achievement and looks forward to his leadership on behalf of the U.S. pulse industry.
