HELENA – A Helena woman is facing a felony theft charge for allegedly embezzling $36,000 from the Montana Department of Livestock over several years while employed by the agency
Helena police said Tuesday that Cindy Lou Cartwright, 50, stole from the department while working as a brand recorder.
A police affidavit filed in Justice Court last month alleges that the thefts occurred between July 2004 and May 2010.
(NORTHERN AG NETWORK NOTE) According to Livestock Department spokesman Steve Merritt, Cartwright has not been employed by MDOL since mid-2010.
