Welcome to the 48th year of NILE!
Billings, MT–Since its inception in 1967, the Northern International Livestock Exposition brings outstanding events to Billings. This year's NILE stock show and rodeo is no exception.

Kicking of three days earlier than years past, the grounds at MetraPark will be buzzing with livestock as early as the tenth of October. The action wraps up Saturday evening, Oct. 17 with the final night of professional rodeo in the Rimrock Auto Arena.

The NILE is all about kids and this year leads with the Junior Fed shows, highlighting the hard work and efforts of the youth. Visitors are welcome to attend any one of the four junior shows beginning with the market hog show Sunday Oct. 11 at noon in the Montana Pavilion.
The spotlight continues to shine on the youngsters through Tuesday, Oct. 13 culminating with the NILE Junior Fed Sale of Champions at 5 p.m. This is an outstanding opportunity to reward these hard working kids by purchasing their projects and allowing them a leg up for next year's project. Most of these kids are involved for the love of agriculture, but also in effort to build college funds. Come on out and support the future!

While the big sky country is home to many cattle producers right here, the NILE welcomes exhibitors from 32 states and Canada. Fourteen different cattle breed shows span the week, beginning Oct. 11 at 8 a.m.

Want to experience the cattle industry outside the show ring? Come to Rancher's Day Wednesday. Join cattlemen from across the region for a number of events filled with education and competition–for exhibitors and visitors alike. Montana State University Beef Cattle Extension department offers educational programs that lead right into the Commercial Heifer Show. Cattlemen will vie for the chance to win their share of over $10,000 in total cash and prizes.
The Cattlemen's Cut Judging contest is open to the public for a minimal entry fee of $10. Take a shot at sorting cattle. It's a skills test against professionals. Try toline the commercial heifer pens up the same way the judges do. A prize package valued at over $3,500 is up for grabs!
Canine enthusiasts can view an exceptional demonstration on Stock Dog Handling byclinician Juan Reyes. His presentation is at 3 p.m. or fifteen minutes after the conclusion of the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge. Stick around for the Ranch Rodeo that night at 7 to make a day of it.
Each night offers something different to suit everyone. Rodeo rivalry heats up the arena for the annual Cat/Griz Chute out Thursday.New this year is the Montana State High School Rodeo Showcase; putting the spotlight on the up and coming superstars of the rodeo worldThursday night.

For breast cancer awareness, Friday is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night, supporting the Eva Project.

As the grand finale help honor First Responders Saturday's Patriot night. The NILE thanks those who sacrifice so much for the safety and service of this country with a special presentation at the rodeo.
From the NILE Running the Rims barrel race, to the Cow Horse Bash horse enthusiasts are sure to find this week full of great watching.Throughout the week, watch the finest horses in the region do what they were born and bred to do.

The definition of trading post says it all: a store or small settlement established for trading, typically in a remote place. From Boots, to boutiques, barn yard supplies and everything in between, there is something for everyone. Over 200 vendors and 25 plus food vendors are on tap for this year's stock Show. Best of all, it is FREE to visit. Open daily from Oct, 11-17 with no gate charge.
Plus lucky winners take can take home a gorgeous piece of art work or rodeo tickets. Who knows who those lucky winners might be? So make sure to walk all the way through the booths!
