Dr. David Sunding, an economist on the faculty of the University of California-Berkeley and a principal with The Brattle Group, has completed a review of the Environmental Protection Agency’s economic analysis of the proposed rule on “Waters of the United States.” His “Review of 2014 EPA Economic Analysis of Proposed Revised Definition of Waters of the Unites States” finds that the EPA has drastically expanded jurisdiction under this proposed rule, and has failed to fully consider the economic impacts on businesses and affected communities.
Dr. Sunding’s review was completed for the Waters Advocacy Council, which represents the nation’s construction, real estate, mining, agriculture, wildlife conservation, forestry, manufacturing and energy sectors.
