Stan Weaver to Be Inducted Into the AQHA Hall of Fame

by Andy Schwab

Montana rancher and longtime American Quarter Horse advocate Stan Weaver will be inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2025. The honor recognizes Weaver’s enduring impact on the industry, as well as his dedication to preserving the working ranch horse and promoting the heritage of the American Quarter Horse.

Weaver, who was elected AQHA president in 2019, has spent decades raising quarter horses on his family’s ranch in Big Sandy, Montana. His passion for quality ranch horses and his deep involvement in the Association led to his instrumental role in the creation and expansion of the AQHA Ranching Heritage program. This initiative includes Ranching Heritage Breeders, ranch horse competitions, and the Ranching Heritage Young Horse Development Program, which introduces youth to responsible horse ownership using AQHA-registered ranch-bred colts.

Known for his integrity, leadership, and tireless support of the ranching community, Weaver has long advocated for reconnecting AQHA with its roots in practical, purpose-bred horses. His legacy includes not only the horses he’s bred, but also the programs and policies he’s helped shape for future generations of horsemen and horsewomen.

Weaver will be honored during the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame Induction and Reunion Celebration, scheduled for September 12–13, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. The two-day celebration will include fireside chats with past and present Hall of Fame inductees, the official unveiling of the Class of 2025 museum exhibit, the AQHA Golf Classic supporting youth activities, and the formal Induction Banquet.

This year’s Hall of Fame class includes standout horses Danjer, Acadamosby Award, and Allocate Your Assets, alongside human inductees Nancy Cahill, Blair E. Folck, Robin Merrill, and Stan Weaver.

Early bird tickets for the event are now available for $250 through July 1. Those who purchase early will be entered into a drawing for a free two-night stay at the Embassy Suites in Amarillo during the celebration weekend.
