There were no shortages of wolves and coyotes in Montana in 1904. Wolfer Dick Brown posed for this photo outside his tent in the Knowlton area of eastern Montana with a stack of hides piled high beside him. Bounties were paid on the hides, and ranchers were thankful for those willing to bring them in to collect.
