Tom and Joan Scott Foundation Invests $150,000 in Montana FFA to Grow Youth Leadership

by Colter Brown

The Montana FFA Foundation has received a generous $150,000 gift from the Tom and Joan Scott Foundation, supporting the development of young leaders through agricultural education.

The Tom and Joan Scott Foundation’s mission — “Investing in leadership, investing in our youth, and making a difference in their lives” — aligns closely with Montana FFA’s commitment to helping students achieve premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.

“We are proud to support the Montana FFA,” said Julie Rose, Trustee of the Tom and Joan Scott Foundation. “I feel that the Montana FFA does an excellent job supporting young people and developing leaders — which are the primary focus areas of the Tom and Joan Scott Foundation.”

The Montana FFA Foundation will use the funds to expand opportunities for more than 7,000 FFA members across the state, including leadership training, CDE and LDE competitions, career development events, scholarships, and agricultural education experiences.

“This incredible gift reflects a shared belief that when we invest in youth, we invest in the future of Montana,” said Megan Irion, Executive Director of the Montana FFA Foundation. “The Tom and Joan Scott Foundation’s generosity will help us continue building strong, capable leaders who are ready to make a difference in their communities.”
