Wyoming Board of Agriculture to Meet in Rawlins

CHEYENNE (May 14, 2015) – The Wyoming Board of Agriculture will meet in Rawlins, WY at the Hampton Inn on May 27, 2015. Following the Board of Agriculture meeting, the Board will have a joint meeting with the Wyoming Business Council.

 

The Wyoming Board of Agriculture will meet from 9:00 p.m. and will adjourn at 10:30 a.m. on May 27, 2015. During the meeting, the Board will review the updated liaison assignments, review the updated meeting schedule for 2015, hear Water Quality final reports, review RHAP applications, discuss Conservation District resignations and appointments, and any other business. There will be a chance for public comment during the meeting.

 

Once the Board of Agriculture meeting is complete, the Board will have a joint meeting with the Wyoming Business Council from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Rawlins Depot on 400 W. Front Street. During this joint meeting, they will discuss interstate shipment of meat, value added, and bighorn sheep. After the joint meeting is finished, the Board will go on a Sage Grouse/Natural Resources Tour.

 

The Board of Agriculture enforces the rules and regulations of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture. Seven board members are appointed by the governor for six-year terms to represent geographical areas of the state. Board members include: Jana Ginter, District 1; Jim Rogers, District 2; Shaun Sims, District 3; John Moore, District 4; Alison Lass, District 5; Bryan Brost, District 6; and Kevin Schieffer., District 7. Youth Board Members include: Kendall Roberts, Southeast; Richard Schlenker, Northwest; John Hansen, Southwest; and Cameron Smith, Northeast.
