According to an announcement from the Ian White of the Canadian Wheat Board on November 29, 2010, “Wet weather throughout the growing season means more feed wheat in the bins than there has been in at least six years.” White, who is CWB President and CEO, says that up to a quarter of the wheat harvested in Canada this year could be feed grade.
In response, the CWB has developed a new pricing option. The new pricing program, launched Monday, gives farmers the choice of immediately locking in prices for Canada Western feed wheat. It uses the CWB’s Early Payment Option in a new way, as a means of striving for the highest returns for feed wheat from the current market environment.
