UW High Altitude Bull Test Culminates in Educational Field Day, Private Treaty Sale April 1

 

Join University of Wyoming for the High Altitude Bull Test and Sale Saturday April 1st in Laramie. Before the sale UW hosts an educational field day covering topics like high-altitude disease and bull selection along with current beef cattle research at UW.

After lunch, 20 Angus, SimAngus, Red Angus, and Simmental bulls will be available for viewing and silent bidding. Bulls are semen tested and with PAP, EPD, and growth data available.

 

As part of its inaugural high altitude bull test and sale, the University of Wyoming will host an educational field day and private treaty sale at the Laramie Research and Extension Center (LREC) Saturday, April 1.

Launched in January 2023, the UW High Altitude Bull Test and Sale evaluates potential sires on their ability to serve producers at high altitude and provides students with hands-on experience in production agriculture.

Educational programming begins at 10 a.m. Landon Eldridge, coach of the UW Livestock Judging team, will present on bull selection and Mark Enns, Ph.D., of Colorado State University will discuss bovine pulmonary hypertension.
