GMO’s and Sustainability in the U.S. Sugarbeet Industry

BILLINGS, MT (January 11, 2017) – GMO’s have revolutionized how growers raise sugarbeets in the Rocky Mountain West and Northern Plains. Fields are weed free meaningless herbicides being used and overall productivity of the sugarbeet plant has increased too.

Dr. Rebecca Larson is VP Chief Scientist at Western Sugar in Denver, CO and presented “GMO’s and Sustainability: 2^nd Year Update” at the MT & WY Malt Barley and Sugarbeet Symposium in Billings, MT.
