Growth and Risk on Today’s Farms and Ranches

SDSU Extension will host Growth and Risk on Today’s Farms and Ranches on January 9-10, 2017 at Cedar Shore Hotel & Conference Center (1500 Shoreline Drive, Oacoma, SD 57365). 

This management workshop will provide resources for key decision makers from growing farm or ranch operations, including:
decision making under uncertainty
making tough choices with financial risk
managing price risk with insurance and marketing tools
dealing with special challenges of investment risk

Participants will gain risk management skills in today’s market environment, deepen their understanding of financial risk and take positive steps to succeed. Individuals are encouraged to attend and network with other farmers and ranchers. Speakers include: Frayne Olson, North Dakota State University; David Ripplinger, North Dakota State University; Matthew Diersen, South Dakota State University; Matt Stockton, University of Nebraska; and Ryan Larsen, Utah State University.

Participant check-in begins at 9:00 am on Monday January 9, 2017. The program begins at 10:00 am and runs through the evening. The workshop ends Tuesday January 10, 2017 at 4:00 pm.

Registration is open and seating is limited. Cost is $200 per participant. Registration includes meals but not lodging.
