Think you could tell the Administration or the USDA a thing or two about trade? Now’s your chance! Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced yesterday that the USDA would like to re-establish the defunct Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee for Trade (APAC) and six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees for Trade (ATAC), and is currently accepting nominations.
Below are the six ATAC Committees:
- Animals and Animal Products;
- Fruits and Vegetables;
- Grains, Feed, Oilseeds and Planting Seeds;
- Processed Foods;
- Sweeteners and Sweetener Products; and,
- Tobacco, Cotton and Peanuts.
Details regarding qualifications and the nomination process can be found within the Federal Register notice published on November 2, 2010. Nominations must be received by 5:00 EST on December 17, 2010. Inquiries or comments regarding the reestablishment of these committees may be sent by electronic mail to: Lorie.Fitzsimmons@fas.usda.gov and Steffon.Brown@fas.usda.gov, or by fax to (202) 720–0340.
