Montana Farmers Feel the Pulse of the Industry

by

GREAT FALLS, MT (November 29, 2016) – The Montana Department of Agriculture and Northern Pulse Growers Association are hosting Montana Pulse Day in Great Falls.

With commodity prices at multi-year lows, growers from across the region are gathered to learn about to grow these crops for not only rotational purposes but also as a cash crop.

The Northern Ag Network’s Lane Nordlund spoke with Kim Murray, a producer from Froid, MT about the exciting growth and opportunities.

Jerry Schillinger is a grower from Circle, MT and is also the president of the Northern Pulse Growers Association. The Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz talked with him at MT Pulse Day.

And he says not only are pulse crops good for the soil but also the wallet.
