(Billings, MT) Pulse crops are one of the fastest growing segments in Montana’s agriculture industry. They’re also very healthy for people making them popular for health conscious shoppers. And for one Montana company, they’re excited to be using Montana yellow peas to help people lose weight.
The Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz was on hand at All American Pharmaceutical in Billings, MT on September 28, 2015 when the first shipment of yellow peas arrived from J.C. Crowley, an eastern Montana farmer, who has been growing pulse crops for about 20 years.
The entire group is hopeful that the pea protein dietary supplement shakes will become a success and lead to a need for more Montana peas, eventually creating a need for All American Pharmaceutical to build a pea processing plant.
