Montana Lamb the Star in Local Cook-Off

by

On June 19th and 20th, the small town of Lavina, Montana (45 miles north of Billings) hosted its 100th All-School Reunion and Montana Lamb Cook-Off. To kick off the celebration, the Montana Wool Grower Association donated their time and grilled and served locally raised lamb kabobs paired with locally brewed beer from Angry Hanks in Billings.

The Montana Lamb Cook-Off featured three chefs; each allotted 20 minutes to prepare their lamb dishes for judging and trophies. Funds donated by the Wheatland/Golden Valley Farm Bureau and the American Lamb Board, along with reunion funds make this event possible.

And the Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz and Lane Nordlund served as Friday evening’s master of ceremonies.

Russell Nemetz brings us these sights and sounds from the Montana Lamb Cook-Off including the winner and her delicious recipe.
