Taiwanese Buyers to Make Trip to Montana

by

Coming up next week, food buyers from Taiwan will be visiting the area to decide whether or not they are interested in importing Montana made food products into their own country.  From August 22 through August 25, five representatives from Taiwan will be spending time in Missoula and Helena visiting with several different Montana agricultural companies.  This Taiwan Inbound Mission is funded by the Western United States Agricultural Trade Associations.

Angelyn DeYoung with the Montana Department of Agriculture, explained this program to Northern Ag Network.

Angelyn tells us this mission is not about commodity trade, it’s about more of the value added to specialty products trade.  Products on the itinerary include ingredient type products such as cherries, grains, and lentils as well as more finished products such as chai mix and pasta. The Montana Department of Commerce is helping with the very difficult and complex task of exporting.
