GARDINER – Many people have to deal with the chore of cleaning up the backyard after pets, but imagine what it's like to pick up after bigger animals like bison.

A small group of volunteers spent Saturday scooping bison poop near Yellowstone National Park. Organizers say the clean-up needed to be done due to the bison migrating out of Yellowstone park and into Gardiner. Under the Interagency Bison Management plan, the animals are allowed to move further north than in years past.

Using pitchforks and shovels, the group filled up an ATV trailer several times–making one huge pile of patties.
