Wolf Only Livestock Loss Prevention Grants

by

The Montana Livestock Loss Board is receiving a $90,000 federal grant for non-lethal loss prevention efforts due to wolves.

Producers can apply to the Livestock Loss Board for 2019 loss prevention grants with project expenses  from January 1 through December 31, 2019. This is a 50-50 grant process where producers pay half the project costs while the board covers the other half. All projects must be only for projects related to wolves, although many of the projects may include grizzly bear loss prevention. The portion of a project that covers wolf loss prevention may be eligible for a grant from the board.

All grant applications must be received by September 17, 2019. Late submissions will not be reviewed. Producers may be asked to provide more information.

The grant application is on the Livestock Loss Board website www.llb.mt.gov. Receipts for expenses are the most helpful thing to provide the board for a grant request.

For any questions about the application or changes to an application, call George Edwards at 406-444-5609.
