Wyoming State Fair Ranch Rodeo Finals, Douglas WY

by

Douglas, WY–The Cowboy State celebrates the working cowboys in the 2015 Wyoming State Fair Ranch Rodeo Finals Saturday, Aug. 15 at 1 p.m.

The rodeo gets wild and western with teams vying for the bragging rights and a chance to head to Billings, Mont. for the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals.

Only the best and the toughest can make it in this sport with events that require skill, strength and spunk. Contestants have to get the fastest time in these events to win: ranch bronc riding, wild cow milking, team doctoring, team branding, and team trailering. For full descriptions of these events check out the NILE website or go watch it in person.

Many of the teams competing are comprised of families and close friendships. The camaraderie comes only second to the relationship between each rider and horse. The horse can easily be argued the most crucial part of being successful. Awards will be given to the top horse.

The winning team from this rodeo will be qualified to compete in the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals Oct. 14 during Rancher's Day at the NILE. This is a big incentive for many of the competitors because the venue is large, indoor, and has instant replay on big screens. More enticingly, the winner from the NILE Ranch Rodeo is eligible to compete at the Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas.

The NILE is proud to have the Wyoming State Fair Ranch Rodeo as one of sanctioning partners because they too work to preserve and embrace the western lifestyle.
