JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Eight cattle were killed after a loaded semi rolled near here Sunday morning.
Scott Bunkers, 30, of Three Forks, Mont., was hauling a semi load of 39 cattle from Montana to Minnesota on Interstate 94. Around 5:30 a.m., Bunkers was in the left lane near the Spirtwood exit, east of Jamestown, when the semi went into the median. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Bunkers tried to correct the semi and get it back onto the interstate, but it tipped onto the driver’s side and came to rest in the median facing eastbound.
Eight of the cattle being transported were either killed in the crash or had to be euthanized due to injuries.
