Over 80 Farm Bill Amendments Submitted in Senate

Following the Senate’s vote on Thursday to proceed with S. 3240, the Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2012, more than 80 amendments have been submitted by 31 Senators on both sides of the aisle. These are wide ranging, covering everything from subsidies through conservation, from fishing to nutrition programs, to prohibiting Members of Congress from participating in farm programs. There’s even an amendment calling for no US assistance to Pakistan until Dr. Shakil Affridi, who was crucial to the capture of Osama bin Laden, is freed.
