Billings, Montana – Montana Agri-Women presents an evening with Ramona Hage Morrison in the Great Hall at Rocky Mountain College, June 27th at 6:00 p.m.
A cornerstone of Montana Agri-Women is education. Each June the group presents a public forum featuring a speaker that brings a wealth of experience and knowledge on a specific agricultural topic.
This year Montana Agri-Women is excited to present Ramona Hage Morrison to discuss her over 40 year history with water and land rights in the western United States.
This year Montana Agri-Women is excited to present Ramona Hage Morrison to discuss her over 40 year history with water and land rights in the western United States.
”Montanans are rightly concerned about the Constitutional rights of both government and of individuals working together to preserve obliged property rights. Ramona Hage Morrison has in-depth knowledge of how the United States legal and regulatory system should work through her family’s many years of court battles. We are pleased to present Ms. Morrison at this event as a highly respected expert on this issue,” said Karen Yost, MAW Treasurer and Program Committee Co-Chair.
Morrison grew up on ranches in northern California and central Nevada and has been intimately involved with her family’s two federal court cases and nearly 40 years of litigation involving the issue of whether or not ranchers have the right to access and be compensated for their split estate rights on federally administered lands.
She also worked for more than 30 years in the public policy arena on property rights and land use matters. Including working on staff for congressman Charles Pashayan in Washington D.C., working for the American Land Rights Association, and the Nevada Mining Association. Her expansive resume also includes 3 appointments to the Nevada Board of Agriculture by former Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons and current Governor Brian Sandoval.
This public forum is a free event and all are welcome. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the program to start at 6:00 p.m. For more information or to R.S.V.P., please visit their website at www.mtagriwomen.com, email president.mtagriwomen@gmail.com, or call 406.248.3631.
