Volunteers Needed for Montana FFA State Convention in Billings

by Brett McRae

The Montana FFA State Convention is April 3rd through the 6th at the Metra in Billings and volunteers are needed to help run Career and Leadership Development Events for Montana’s future agriculturists. Convention Organizer Joe Lackman is expecting thousands of students and Ag teachers in the Magic city and he says the Montana FFA Association needs volunteers to help run the event.

“We’re always looking for volunteers to help run and organize. We have an incredible membership, we’re expecting 2000 FFA folks that are going to be here in town and this is the first time in basically six years when the convention is here [Billings].”

After hosting the convention in Bozeman next year, the Montana FFA State Convention will be in Great Falls for the following four years. At state convention students will compete in contests such as livestock evaluation, ag sales, agronomy, agri-science, mechanics, extemporaneous speaking and many more.
