Barley is to Beer as Grapes are to Wine

(Huntley, Mont.) This week MillerCoors held it’s Barley Field Days in Powell, Wyo. and Huntley, Mont. The events are held to help bring brewery and growers together so that each has a better understanding and appreciation of each other.

Pete Coors was born in Golden, Colorado and is the great-grandson of Adolph Coors, the brewing entrepreneur. Throughout his life, he has worked in various positions at his family’s company. He currently serves as Chairman of the Molson Coors Brewing Company and Chairman of MillerCoors.

This week in Huntley, Mont. the Northern Ag Network’s Russell Nemetz talked with Pete Coors about the important relationship MillerCoors has with its barley growers.

A long time ago, Bill Coors coined the phrase “Barley is to Beer as Grapes are to Wine” and Wade Malchow with the MillerCoors Barley Program couldn’t agree more.

With harvest just around the corner, everyone at MillerCoors reminds farmers to be safe and for drivers to be on the lookout for slow moving machinery on country roads and highways.

MillerCoors also reminds all of us to “Always Drink Responsibly and Never Drink and Drive.”
